Day 1 -  Dublin to Italy

Arrival at Bari Airport. Meet your local tour guide and transfer to your hotel in central Puglia. Dinner at your own expense and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2 - Alberobello & Conversano

Breakfast at hotel. Depart to visit Alberobello, famous for the “TRULLI” - traditional dry stone huts with conical roofs. Their style of construction is specific to this region and are a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will then finish the day with a guided excursion to Conversano. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Dairy Farm & Martina Franca

After breakfast at your hotel, visit a dairy farm in the area of Putignano to see their production techniques and meet the local farmers. This will include fresh mozzarella demonstration and tasting. Lunch at the masseria with local produce. Later in the afternoon, depart on a guided excursion to Martina Franca. Free time for dinner at your own expense and overnight in your hotel. 

 Day 4 - Farm Visit & Free Time

Breakfast at your hotel & check-out. Transfer to a farm in San Michele Salentino to see their figs cultivation. Stop for lunch at a masseria in the Ostuni area (8 course lunch with wine and olive oil pairings). Free time for shopping and sightseeing at your leisure. Check-in at the masseria, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - Matera 

After breakfast at the masseria, go on a full day excursion to Matera, the UNESCO site of “Sassi” and 2019 European Capital of Culture. Explore this unique city and spot the filming locations of Mel Gibson’s “Passion of Christ” and Morgan Freeman’s “Ben Hur”. Enjoy some free time for lunch. After lunch, transfer to your hotel in Lecce. Dinner at your own expense and overnight in your hotel.  

Day 6 - Olive Oil & Wine Tasting Plus Ontrato

Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to Cutrofiano for a visit to a local farm followed by a food & wine tasting. In the afternoon you will enjoy a visit to Otranto, famous for Sir Horace Walpole’s novel The Castle of Otranto. This was the first gothic novel every written and is regarded by many as the beginning of this literary genre. Some free time for shopping. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - Lecce & Farm Visit

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for a full day excursion to Lecce, known as “the Florence of Southern Italy”. Here you will enjoy a half-day guided tour of the city. Lecce is renowned for the richness of its monuments, most of them characterised by the typical Lecce baroque style. Visit the Santa Croce Basilica, Santa Chiara Basilica and the Duomo. The city centre is rounded by walls with its 4 doors; Arch of Triumph, Rudiae Door, San Biagio Door, San Martino Door. Lunch at leisure.  Afternoon transfer to Vernole for a visit to a beef farm to see their production techniques and meet the local farmers. Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Day 8 - Departure

Breakfast at your hotel. City tour then free time for lunch. Transfer to Bari Airport for departure. Flight home to Dublin.

  2. Single room supplement €248pp (limited availability). If you are travelling alone and are willing to share a twin room with another group member of the same sex, we will do our best to accommodate this request although it cannot be guaranteed
  3. Price includes 1 standard piece of hand luggage. Checked-in luggage is available to purchase prior to travel - prices may vary
