Below you will find a list of available dates for this holiday.  Prices are per person and based on two people sharing.

Available Dates


Day 1 - Dublin to Bilbao

Arrive at Bilbao airport, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2 - Bilbao & The Guggenheim Museum

Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Bilbao, an exciting city of culture on the banks of the River Nervión. Also visit the world-famous Guggenheim Museum. Continue to visit a local food market in the The Mercado de la Ribera market square selling meat and fish. Here we will and we shall be interacting with stall owners who will give us information on their produce. In the afternoon we will pay a visit to the spectacular Guggenheim Museum. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 3 - San Sebastian and Idiazábal cheese visit  

After breakfast we make our way to the village of Idiazábal. This name is well known in Spain for its cheese, and we shall be stopping at a farm in the area and learning all about the process and of course, tasting it at the end of the visit. Continue to San Sebastian & enjoy a guided walking tour of the old town & La Concha beach promenade - one of the finest city beaches in Europe. The Basque country is renowned for the quality of its food, with San Sebastian flying the flag for its haute cuisine. You’ll have free time for lunch where as well as superb restaurants, you’ll also have the option to visit the Pintxo bars. Pintxos (the basque word for tapas) are a cuisine in miniature found in bars all over the city. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 4 - Biscay eco-farm and cider house

Breakfast at your hotel. Today we will be staying locally in the Biscay area. Our first stop takes us to an eco-farm, right out in the beautiful hills of the Basque Country, where we will be shown how milk, yoghurt and cheese are produced in an alternative eco-friendly way. Continue to a “sidrería”, a cider house. For centuries, these establishments were where the Basque people got together to eat, drink and be merry. Nowadays they very popular for to celebrate family meals. Our host today will show his apple orchard, the process the cider undertakes and will then serve us a traditional and plentiful Basque dinner including drinks. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 5 - Guernica, Bermeo & Mercabilbao Wholesale Food Market

Breakfast at your hotel. Today enjoy an excursion to Guernica - the historic and symbolic centre of the Basque country. Visit the intriguing San Juan de Gaztelugatxe whose origins are shrouded in mystery. Reputed to be a 9th or 10th century hermitage, it is connected to the mainland by a man-made bridge. Stop at the coastal town of Bermeo - one of the most important fishing villages in the Basque Country. Also visit the main wholesale food market that supplies the whole of the Bilbao metropolitan area. With a population of around one million, this means a very big operative infrastructure is needed. Learn about all the workings of this centralised facility in a guided tour around the premises. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 6 - Bilbao to Laguardia via Santo Domingo de la Calzada

Breakfast at your hotel. Check-out and depart for La Guardia. Our first stop takes us to a tillage cooperative where we will learn all about the managing of the different types of cereal in the area, and the possibility of comparing it to the Irish production. We will continue to the nearby town of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, a very important town on the Pilgrim Road since the middle ages. We will take a walk through the town with our guide, with the possibility of visiting the very interesting cathedral. After some free time for lunch, we then continue to Laguardia for check-in. Walk to the in the centre of this beautiful walled town where guide will show us around the town whilst suggesting local eateries for dinner. Overnight in Laguardia.

Day 7 -  La Guardia

Breakfast at your hotel. Today enjoy some great sightseeing in beautiful La Guardia. Visit a bodega for an architectural tour and another bodega for wine tasting. Free time in the afternoon and overnight at your hotel.

Day 8 - Return home

Breakfast & check out of your hotel. Free time before transfer to the airport to return to Dublin.

  2. Single room supplement €299pp. If you are travelling alone and are willing to share a twin room with another group member of the same sex, we will do our best to accommodate this request although it cannot be guaranteed
  3. Price includes 1 standard piece of hand luggage. Checked-in luggage is available to purchase prior to travel - prices may vary.
