Itinerary

Day 1 - Dublin to Athens

Depart Dublin at 07:25 and fly to Athens where you will meet your guide and transfer to Tolo. Stop at Corinth Canal, that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea, with narrow rock walls rising 90 metres above sea level. Continue to your hotel for check-in and evening meal. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 2 - Epidaraus, Olive Oil Museum & Nafplion

Breakfast at your hotel. Visit to Epidaurus said to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asclepius the healer. Learn about the fascinating history of olive oil production at a local Olive Oil Museum with tasting. Continue on to the beautiful seaside town of Nafplion including Palamidi Fortress. Nafplion, 12km southeast of Argos on the Argolic Gulf, is one of Greece’s prettiest and most romantic towns. It occupies a knockout location, on a small port beneath the towering Palamidi fortress, and is graced with attractive narrow streets, elegant Venetian houses, neoclassical mansions and interesting museums. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 3 - Meat Farm Visit / Wine Tasting & Mycenae

Breakfast at your hotel and visit to a local meat farm and / or visit a local winery for tasting. Later visit Mycenae, a fortified late Bronze Age city. The archaeological site of Mycenae is the imposing ruin of a great city from Mycenaean civilization, which dominated the eastern Mediterranean world from the 15th to the 12th century B.C. and played a vital role in the development of classical Greek culture. It is indissolubly linked to the Homeric epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey, which have influenced European art and literature for more than three millennia. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Varvakios Market & Athens

After breakfast at your hotel, visit Varvakios Market. All kinds of food can be found there. Fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, spices and many more. It’s a market most preferred by locals, who seek for good quality Greek products in reasonable prices. Later visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus, a colossal ruined temple in the centre of the Greek capital. Continue to Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 and onto The Palace and the Tomb to the Unknown Soldier at Styntagma Square. Also visit the Academy, the University and the Library. And no trip to Athens would be complete without visiting the ancient Acropolis site museum. Each of these picturesque islands are perfect for sightseeing, taking a relaxing stroll along the beach or sampling the local cuisine in one of the many cafes & bars. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 5 - Acropolis & Technical Talk on Agriculture

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for a tour of Acropolis Site Museum. No trip to Athens would be complete without visiting the ancient Acropolis site. These monuments are universal symbols of the classical spirit and civilization and form the greatest architectural and artistic complex bequeathed by Greek Antiquity to the world. Later in the afternoon, attend a technical talk on agriculture in your hotel or at an agricultural organisation. Overnight at your hotel.
